If this is your first time purchasing a weapon or an accessory for a weapon, some of the terms in the buying process could be a little confusing. What's a Single Shot Trust, and why is it important? Why are you being asked about a Shot Trust when buying a silencer?
A Single Shot Trust (also sometimes called a Silencer Shop Trust through our services) is designed to simplify gun ownership and the legal paperwork required to register a weapon or an accessory for a weapon (like a silencer). The Single Shot Trust prompts the buyer to complete ATF Form 1 or 4 via DocuSign. These documents register a weapon in accordance with the National Firearms Act (NFA); in addition, the Trust allows each owner to designate family members or "trustees" to have legal use of the weapon (or accessory).
